You'll probably jump from fright when I tell you this. But I use a little HCL in a huge blue bucket of water. Works fine for me. The fish don't mind either. A long time ago, I used to add it to my water changes because my Alk was too high and I had some RTN. I found out though that the RTN wasn't from my Alk but my "N and P" being too high.
