Coral acclimation
2007/12/11 21:05
I bought a SPS from my one of favorite LFS, and I wanna introduce my method of coral acclimation.
I think The Acclimation of SPS is important as well as Fishes. and SPS are very delicate more than other
LPS, soft corals, I try to acclimate all SPS I buy as possible...
Here is the prostrata(?) that I bought in LFS...

And this is the "Reef Dip" for Coral disinfectant. I use 5ml in 4liter water. but not sure It works or
not because it can not kill the invert...but I think it is better than I do not dose it..

This is my new Prostrata... It is not colorful just dark brown but I think it has some beautiful colors someday.....I use vinyl glove to protect my hand and coral. It is bad each other without it...
I pull out it to check some unwanted things such as aiptasia and majano...They are really evil..

I checked out the bottom area and I think it is OK...

It is acclimation time!!! Because I pull out it so you can see the mucus of it

The closeup picture!!!

I use some valve and hose for acclimation and drip rate is 60 drip per minutes and if the water are
filled in the bucket 4 liters.. I remove half of water in it and receive the main tank wateragain during
3~4 times.. and at last I dose the "Reef dip" from Seachem and wait 5~10 minutes...

After finishing this procedure, I put it in my main tank. Sometimes I can see the mucus on its tip or
body. but a few hours later it was gone....
