트로픽마린사에서 새로운 소금이 나왔습니다. Reef Builder에서 사용해본 사용기가 올라와 있어서 소개해드립니다. (소개할 글은 많은데 매일 미루게 되다 보니 큰일입니다)
읽다가 보니 흥미로운 단어가 보입니다. "Organic Compounds" Tropic Marin did something completely different when it launched their Bio Actif system, and more specifically when they launched their new salt. They added something that is usually left out in most salt. Organic Compounds. A book by Sorokin on Coral Reef Ecology states on page 66 that content of reef water in organic C is around 1 to 3 ppm. If the natural reefs of the world have a range of organics why wouldn’t we put them in our man-made glass reef houses?즉 다른 소금들과는 다르게 바닷물에 있는 성분그대로 유기물질을 안에다가 넣었다는 것입니다. 이 유기물질이 무엇인지는 정확하게 밝혀지지 않았지만 우리가 보통 사용하는 vodka와 같은 carbon성분일 것이고 박테리아들의 활성에 도움을 주고 toxin을 줄일 수도 있다는 얘기 같습니다.
Organic compounds that you might be familiar with could include Vodka, vinegar, sugar or vitamin C. We don’t know what specific organic compound is being added to the Bio Actif salt, but we would assume its one of the above. The salt creates more hydrophobic compounds and bacteria then traditional salts which increases the load of your protein skimmer. You shouldn’t be using this salt without a decent protein skimmer. The reaction to the skimmer was so impressive in fact its like pouring Sodium lauryl sulfate into running tap water. Not to that extent but hopefully you’ve gotten the point. Run a good protein skimmer. To expand, good here refers to a efficient bubble making device with a needle-wheel, mesh-wheel, etc.
또한 이런 까닭에 이 소금을 사용하기 위해서는 스키머가 필수라고 합니다. 재밌습니다.
나타난 수치역시 자연 해수와 비슷한 수치를 보이고 있습니다. RC의 chemical guru인 Randy가 추천하는 소금중에 하나 역시 트로픽 마린사의 해수염이기도 합니다.
Calcium CA 442 PPM매우 잘 녹기도 한다는 군요. 나중에 우리나라에서도 수입이 될런지 모르겠지만 다양한 소금이 많이 들어왔으면 합니다.
