Vertex Alpha 200 Skimmer Review

In about 3 weeks ago, (26th August), I introduced my new skimmer vertex alpha 200 skimmer.

I'd like to share my feelings about this with you.
Position: (Satisfied)
Now my skimmer is in my sump and the water level is 9 inches. The outlet part is fully opened and initial water level in skimmer is 0.5cm above from skimmer collection cup. I am using the red nozzle for heavy bioload. Many US reefers recommand water level to 9~9.5 inches, But I think 8~8.5 inches is also OK to use 200 model. Its concept is also plug & Play. You can adjust the water level in your skimmer that you want.
Noise: (Very satisfied)
The one of reason I decided to change the skimmer is noise. My wife and I are a little sensitive to noise especially from sucking air and vibrated motors and relatively thin skimmrer body. (My wife does not like MP40w until now). But Vertex 200 skimmer is very silence. I think more than 2/3 noise are gone. It is from well made motor and silencer.
Performance: (Very Satisfied)
This is the result of skimmate during 3 days.
I should change and be clear to collection cup every 3 days. Powerful skimming and using bacterial method can make my tank to UNLS. But my corals are starving. I will change the skimming from wet style to a little dry. The performance is almost double compared to previous skimmer.
But of course there is demerit in vertex 200, the collection cup.
The inner diameter is relatively bigger than total diameter, so It is very hard to clean the skimmer cup with my hand. I should use some tools ...
But I love my new skimmer and satisfied. and I think I do not have to change this at least If I maintain 100~150 gallon tank. :)
