Over the past year we have been listening to our valued customers, talking with our retailers, monitoring this forum and are delighted to announce the VorTech MP40w Gen2. As innovators in the reef aquarium industry, we strive to continually enhance our products. The next generation VorTech MP40w once again raises the bar while providing you with even greater flexibility, safety, durability and performance.

Gen2 features a new magnet, high performance plastic drive shaft screw, a revised wet frame cover and is fully backwards compatible with all VorTech pumps. The new magnet is fully encapsulated within black plastic, cannot be scratched or damaged under normal use, is more durable, eliminates rusting and requires no regularly scheduled replacements.

I have a vortech mp40, and the wet part of it has problem. it makes sss noise. so I decided to change the wet part. With this part, I also decide to change new magnet too.
The left one is my new wet part and the right is the new magnet kit.

The upper  screw is new one. and it is made of plastic, so I will not be worried about the rust.


The left is old cover and the right is new one. (thicker than old one)
The new one is covered the wet part and magnet.

In mp40 manual, We can see the structure of pump. and changing the magnet is
very easy. Just follow the picture~!!
