이번에 Redsea에서 새로운 소금이 출시되었습니다. New Redsea 와 Coral Pro 해수염이었습니다.
Brochure를 보던차에 Coral용 보다 새로운 버젼의 RedSea해염이 Probiotics 권장 수치와 비슷하여 (Coral Pro는 전체적으로 값이 너무 높았습니다) 200L용으로 구입하여 측정을 해보았습니다.

전체샷을 사진으로 남기고 싶었는데 봉지가 터져서 왔습니다. 그래서 생략하도록 하겠습니다.  
(사장님, 박스가 너무 작았습니다. 앞으로 조금만 더 신경써주세요.)

외관 : 다른 여타의 소금들과 다르지 않습니다.
녹는속도 : 25도에서 에하임1250을 가지고 40리터의 물을 녹여보았습니다. 정확한 시간을 재진 않았지만 1시간
이내에 모든 소금이 녹는 것을 확인하였습니다.

궁금하시는 파라미터입니다.
시약은 다음의 것을 사용하였으며 MG를 제외한 다른 것은 1번씩 측정하였습니다. MG는 혹시나 싶어서 2번테스트 하였습니다.

35PPT at 25 Degree
KH : Lamotte
CA,MG : ELOS
PO4 : Hanna Colorimeter
NO3 : Salifert

제 시약으로 측정한 결과입니다.

KH : 136 PPM (7.5)
CA : 380
MG : 1050
PO4 : 0.00
NO3 : 0.00
35.5PPT에서의 RedSea Brochure의 값은 다음과 같습니다.

KH : 7.8~8.2
CA : 420~440
MG : 1250~1310

물론 제 시약의 문제이거나 측정의 문제일수도 있겠습니다만 MG에 대한 오차는 꽤나 큰 편입니다. 광고상으로는 Zeovit을 사용하는 리퍼들에게는 좋은 소금이 될  수 있을 것 같습니다만 실제는 차이가 많이 납니다.

고민끝에 일단은 가지고 있는 테트라 소금을 그대로 쓰기로 하였습니다. 다음에는 프라이스 소금을 테스트해보고 싶기는 합니다만 가격이 굉장히 비싸네요.

AquariumWaterTesting.com has a great PDF of just about all the salt brands on the market.  It is very interesting to see the comparison's.  For example, the rave a while back was Tropic Marine Pro.  They have very HIGH elements such as Bromine, Ammonia, Phosphate, Potassium, Iodine, Strontium & Magnesium.  The charts are off the roof! It makes you wonder why the corals love it!  That salt definitely has elevated levels that SPS will love. If you look at the charts, Marine Environment also has very high levels.  Maybe its time for me to switch from Oceanic to one of these other high leveled salt mixes? 

It also brings back memories when local hobbysts told me that Oceanic creates a lot of algae on the rocks.  Looking at the levels, it has the highest Potassium & Iodine graphs and when i dosed these in the past alone, you could see the algae increase.
