The new Wavecontroller 7092 from Tunze is a membrane keyboard control unit that will work for all Turbelle pumps and is slated to fill the gap between the Singlecontroller 7091 and Wavecontroller 6091. The Tunze Wavecontroller 7092 looks like it will be able to control 2 pumps with modes and features that you’ve seen on the other controller modules. Look for this hitting the world after Interzoo for around $80. Not to shabby eh?

The new Wavecontroller 7092 fitted with a membrane keyboard is a control unit for all Turbelle® pumps
with electronic motor. It is the perfect synthesis between Singlecontroller 7091 and Wavecontroller
6091, and thus can synchronously or reciprocally control two Turbelle® pumps: Wave simulation by setting the two pump outputs to maximum and minimum values as well as the pulse time. Oscillating flow for the direct or reciprocal operation of Nano Wavebox / Wavebox. Oscillating flow with Turbelle® pump for the operation of Turbelle® stream pumps. Automatic search of the resonance frequency in case of oscillating flow. Ramp function for a gentle start of the pumps. Foodtimer at the touch of a button; after about eight to ten minutes, a restart is carried out automatically. If the Photo-Electric Cell 7094.05 (not included in the scope of delivery) is attached to the connecting port, the night-mode operation is activated automatically.

이번에 Tunze사의 Nano Wavebox를 구입하였습니다. Vortech40W과 2개의 맥시젯을 가지고 있지만 앞부분에 대한 수류보강이 좀 필요했습니다. 산호들이 갈수록 커가기 때문에 수류보강은 어쩔 수 없는 것 같습니다.
기본 스펙은 다음과 같습니다.

TUNZE® Nano Wavebox

TUNZE® Nano Wavebox and Wavebox are suitable wave generators for all reef biotopes. They produce oscillating waves which produce water movement almost identical to reef zones. Nano Wavebox and Wavebox are controlled by means of Wavecontroller 6091, which utilizes the principal of resonance frequency to create wave motion. The resonance frequency is set on the Wavecontroller; it is the frequency, at which the waves can reach the maximum height in the aquarium. At very little power consumption, an enormous water movement is produced very efficiently. All of the water in the tank is in movement, which means that water also laps around areas behind stones.
In large tanks, a Wavebox 6212 and a Wavebox Extension 6212.50 should be fitted, the latter being a Wavebox 6212 without Wavecontroller 6091 which is used as an extension. Nano Wavebox and Wavebox can be fitted in any corner of the aquarium.

A special Wavebox pump is used as a wave generating pump, which belongs to the family of the Turbelle ® stream pumps. It pumps the water out of the box at a high speed. The Wavecontroller 6091 stops the pump after a short time; the water returns into the housing of the Wavebox.

The Wavecontroller 6091 controls the pump in such a way that switching on and off corresponds to a certain frequency. The frequency is determined when the unit is set up, which then remains constant. Given a strong growth of coral, this frequency should be re-adjusted after some time. In order to ensure night-mode operation, the Wavecontroller 6091 has been fitted with a photoelectric cell: In this case the Wavebox will be set to standstill for the night. The Foodtimer integrated in the Wavecontroller switches the Wavebox off when food is dispensed. The wave generation is interrupted for about 7 to 9 minutes to permit feeding. The break in wave movement whilst the fish are fed ensures that no food gets into the stone structures and that the fish can feed undisturbed by the wave movement.

Immersion depth: approx. 180 mm (7.0 in.), on average 10 W, 230 V / 50 - 60 Hz (115 V / 50 - 60 Hz).

여러 동영상을 보면서 가장 자연스러운 수류가 아닌가 생각했습니다. 물론 실제로 설치를 해보고 느껴봐야 정확히 알 수 있겠지만요.

크기 비교를 위해 제 핸드폰을 비교하여 찍었습니다. 생각보다 작고 깜찍해서 요즘 나오는 게임기와 같은 느낌이 들었을 정도였습니다. 표면도 매끈하고 좋더군요. 먼지 좀 떼어내고 찍을 걸 그랬습니다. :)

웨이브박스 윗부분의 모습입니다. 이곳으로 물이 들어갔다가 펌프를 통해 나가면서 파도가 생성이 되는 것 같습니다. 실제로 동작을 보지 않으면 잘 이해가 안가긴 합니다. 굉장히 간단한 구조인 것 같습니다.

How does the Wavebox operate ?

The pump in the Wavebox presses the water to the left-hand side of the tank causing all polyps in every position in the aquarium to move to the left.

The pump is stopped; the wavebox fills up; and the entire water in the aquarium returns to the right-hand side. All polyps move to the right.

펌프에 의해서 물이 밀리면 윗사진과 같이 전체 수류가 왼쪽으로 이동합니다. 이때 폴립들도 왼쪽으로 움직이겠지요? 다음엔 아래사진과 같이 펌프가 멈추고 나서 웨이브박스에 물이 찹니다. 그러면서 전체 물이 오른쪽으로 이동을 하지요. 이제 약간 이해가 갑니다...:)

들어있는 컨트롤러입니다. 예전 싱글 컨트롤러랑 비슷하게 생겼습니다. pulse를 조절하는 부분이 있고 붉은색 버튼은 food timer입니다. 밥줄때 누르면 일정시간동안 멈추어 있습니다. 그 옆에 photo cell을 연결하는 부분이 있는데 항상 안써왔습니다만 이번엔 사용해 볼 생각입니다.

최근 출시되고 있는 튠즈라인들을 보면 아답터들이 아주 이쁘게 나오는 것을 알 수 있습니다. 이쪽에서 12V~24V까지 output voltage를 조정할 수 있습니다 이를 통해서 세기를 조정할 수 있을 것 같습니다. 예전의 곰스러웠던 푸른색 드라이버보다 이런 스타일이 훨씬 세련되 보이는 것 같습니다.

설치는 이번 주말쯤 해볼 생각입니다.
