외관은 위의 사진처럼 공개가 된 상태입니다. 다른 분들의 의견도 비슷해 보입니다만 너무 기대를 많이 한 탓인지 아니면 비밀무기가 있는것인지 디자인은 기대보다는 별로인 것 같습니다. 물론 취향이긴 합니다만 아무래도 가장 잘나간다는 AI사의 디자인과는 비교가 됩니다.
LED의 구성이 다르긴 하지만 기존의 검은색 fixture의 개념을 깬 깔끔하고 단순한 디자인은 사람들의 눈을 확 사로잡기에 충분해 보입니다. 차별화를 의식해서였는지는 잘 모르겠습니다. 바닥부분의 구조도 약간은 의아한 것이 팬을 가운데 두고 fixture윗부분이 아닌 아랫부분에 둔 점입니다. 바람이 아래로 불면 효율이 떨어질 것 같고 흡입하는 것이라면 소금기와 먼지가 장난이 아닐텐데 말이지요.
LED구성은 일반 산호성장 및 발색을 위한 full spectrum을 제공하는 것으로 보입니다.
아직 더 숨기고 있는지는 잘 모르겠습니다만 대부분 나노어항이 아니기 때문에 큰 어항에 2개 이상의 LED fixture를 위한 프래임이 제공이 될런지 아니면 fixture자체가 커질런지, 컨트롤러는 어떤 모양일지등에 대해서는 좀 더 지켜봐야 할 것 같습니다.
최근에 소개해 드렸던 Ecotech Marine사의 LED정보가 Release되었습니다. 이번에 전체 모양은 아쉽게도 나오지 않았지만 기본 스펙과 Spectrum이 공개가 되었네요. 차주에 있을 MACNA에서 외관도 공개가 될 것이고 Impact를 크게 하기 위한 전략이 아닌가 생각됩니다.

Radion was purpose-built to be upgradeable both through its
modular driver and LED cluster design, modular optics, as well as its USB
firmware.

특이사항에 대해서 Bold체와 밑줄로 표시를 해보았는데요. 하나의 Radion은 34개의 LED로 구성이 되어 있고 Cree & Osran조합이네요. 6000K에서 20000K의 산호에 필요한 full spectrum이 다 들어가 있는 것으로 보입니다. 60센티 큐브를 커버할 수 있는데 길이가 30센티,폭이 18센티라고 하니 심플한 스타일이 되지 않을까 생각됩니다. 가격은 749달러정도네요. 우리나라로 들어오기 위해서는 90만원대가 되지 않을까 생각됩니다. 150리터에 한개꼴로 설치를 해야 한다고 하고요. 다른 LED에도 제공되는지 모르겠습니다만 USB로 연결이 되어서 드라이버와 컴퓨터의 연결도 가능해지고 펌웨어등의 업그레이드도 어느지역에서나 쉽게 가능할 수 있지 않을까 생각이 됩니다. 그리고 저번에 제가 예상했듯이 Ecotech의 특징적인 기술인 Wireless를 활용해서 다수개의 조명에 대한 컨트롤이 무선으로 가능해지는 듯 합니다. 고유의 Battery backup과의 연동은 기존 MP시리즈 뿐 아니라 조명에도 사용할 수 있게되어 정전이 되는 상황에서도 조명이 유지될 수 있도록 지원을 해주는 것도 재밌는 내용입니다.
디자인이 좋게 나오고 SPS에 대한 성능이 입증되면 (일본에서는 어느정도 입증되어 사람들이 인정하는 분위기입니다) 괜찮은 물건하나 나오지 않을까 생각이 됩니다. 다만 가격이 좀 더 저렴하게 나올 수 있다면 더 큰 경쟁력이 되겠지요...다음주가 기다려집니다. 새로운 소식이 나오는데로 다시 전해드리도록 하겠습니다.
